Harz narrow gauge railroad
Experience the legendary, 1142m high Brocken and enjoy the overwhelming panorama of the Harz National Park as well as the fantastic view of the foreland on your journey.
Since July 1992, our guests have been able to climb the highest peak in northern Germany again with our 700 hp steam horses. As pure adhesion railways, i.e. without gears or similar aids, our steam locomotives master this several times a day. The railway covers its steepest section to the Brocken in about 50 minutes from Drei-Annen-Hohne station.
Before you reach the Brocken station, which with its 1125 meters of altitude is the highest station of all German adhesion narrow-gauge railways, you will have a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding national park. Even in winter, a train ride in the snowy Upper Harz is a special experience:
Snow-covered fir forests, snow-blown plateaus and the clear mountain air on the Brocken invite you to linger and relax.
We wish you an eventful journey!

The friendly town is located on a hilltop that rises gently from east to west, directly on the western edge of the steeply sloping ditch between Liesing and Klebas, a few meters further to the west. In this moat the birthplace of the famous scholar Univ. Prof. Dr. Matthew von Lexer

The Brocken Railway puffs and sniffs daily up the Brocken. Can you imagine how nice it is to drive through the snowy forests? A wonderful feeling and a real attraction, especially for children. From several stations, you can start your journey on the Brocken and experience a nostalgic feeling. Real fun for young and old.
