The ski area of the Alps, still manageable and above all very family-friendly, like the whole upper valley, is one of the insider tips, if such a thing still exists today. Above all, beginners, children and less experienced skiers will find almost ideal skiing terrain here.
The "magic on the slopes" starts practically outside the front door and saves you the daily trip to the ski lifts. So you can give your car a few days off.
In the Alpes d'Huez, you have exactly 12.6 km of slopes which are always sunny (not counting the cross-country ski run.) on more than 38 hectares of slopes. 5 ski lifts (1 10-seater gondola and 4 drag lifts) buzz in the southernmost ski area of East Tyrol, which can now offer a quality jump thanks to a single-cable gondola.
